Privacy Policy

KidCash (“we,” “us”) is a parent-operated iPhone app for tracking children's allowances and savings. We built KidCash to be private by default: it runs on your device and syncs only through your own iCloud. This policy explains what that means for you.
The short version
- We have no servers and no user accounts — we never receive your data.
- Everything you enter stays on your device and in your private iCloud.
- We don't show ads, run analytics SDKs, or sell data. Ever.
Information you enter
To use the app, you may enter information such as your kids' names, balances and transactions, notes, allowance and interest settings, savings goals, and optional profile photos. This content belongs to you and is created and controlled entirely by you.
Information we don't collect
KidCash has no account system and does not require you to register. We do not collect:
- Names, emails, or passwords for any KidCash account (there isn't one).
- Your location, contacts, or device address book.
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data.
- Usage analytics through third-party SDKs.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, it is synced across your own Apple devices using Apple's iCloud/CloudKit in a private database tied to your Apple Account. We cannot access that data. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
KidCash is operated solely by a parent or guardian. There is no kid-facing mode and no child login. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Any information about a child is entered by the parent and stored privately as described above. If you believe a child has somehow provided information through the app, you can remove it at any time by deleting it in the app.
Device permissions
- Notifications (optional): local reminders for allowance, interest, and a monthly recap. These are scheduled on your device — no push server is involved.
- Face ID / Touch ID (optional): used by iOS to unlock the app. Biometric data is handled entirely by Apple and is never seen by us.
- Photos (optional): only the specific image you choose for a profile photo is used, and it is stored locally.
Data retention & deletion
You control your data. You can edit or delete any transaction, archive or delete a kid, or delete the app entirely at any time. Deleting data removes it locally and, through iCloud, syncs that deletion to your other devices. You can also export a full statement to CSV or PDF whenever you like.
Security
KidCash offers an optional app lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode) and a privacy cover that hides live balances in the iOS app switcher. Your data also benefits from your device's built-in encryption.
Third-party services
The only third party involved in running KidCash is Apple, through iCloud/CloudKit, used solely to sync your data within your own account. We do not integrate advertising networks or third-party analytics.
Your rights
Because your data stays on your devices and in your iCloud, you can access, correct, export, or delete it directly within the app at any time, without needing to contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
